New features and improvements:

• MTK: improved Repair IMEI (generic) procedure: enables the procedure on various LG phones with MTK SoCs
• Motorola: Boot Repair function can use normal firmware packs from now (usually blankflashes / singleimages could be used successfully before)
• MTK: Firmware Update procedure fails with more meaningful error if the selected firmware pack is incompatible with the device
• Huawei: rewritten some error messages to be more user friendly (affects procedures for Kirin SoCs)
• Core: improved overall application stability

Bugfixes:

• Qualcomm: fixed a bug when trying to detect the sector size of the device's flash chip
• Huawei: fixed a couple of errors when running Factory Mode procedures on Kirin SoCs
• Samsung: fixed multiple bugs when collecting Samsung firmware packs from the official source
• Core: fixed a UI glitch which affected the "Hide" button on the panel of completed procedures

Massive Qualcomm EDL Refactor

It took us over 6 months to test and refine but now our Qualcomm EDL module refactor is released and live.
Using official documentation, and a lot of experience and data from previous procedures, we are excited to present our refactored features:

New CPU identification logics
Automatic programmer selection: completely rewritten analysis and assignment logics to ensure that Chimera always selects the correct programmer for every device

New programmers: by now we have over 7200 verified and categorised loaders for more than 150 brands

Bugfixes:

Xiaomi: fixed a bug in Patch IMEI procedure for MTK SoC (mainly Redmi Note 11S 4G/POCO M4 Pro 4G /fleur/ was affected)

Chimera BiWeekly: Samsung MTK (BROM mode without TP) & Generic Qualcomm/MTK

Samsung MTK:
Without Test Point: Chimera can automatically change to bootrom mode (soft brick) for most Samsung MTK models (if possible)! We always focused on easy and user friendly solutions and this update means that you can service a lot more devices with Chimera just using a cable, without hardware disassemble.

Automatically fix devices with damaged GPT (bricked)
Added a new Set Knox Guard State procedure
Major changes were done in the Samsung module to help future improvements


Generic MTK:
Various improvements were implemented for the Repair IMEI procedure


Generic Qualcomm:
Retry programmer selection and resend automatically where it's possible (without using the test point again)
Added a new warning dialog to reconnect the battery after a successful programmer upload
Added a new fail-safe mechanism to communicate with programmers that do not strictly comply with the firehose protocol

*: The procedure is available from normal mode and Chimera will try to Soft Brick the device to put it in bootrom mode. If for some reason Soft Bricking doesn’t work, you will have to hardware Test Point to achieve bootrom mode.
