Xiaomi MIUI 13 support

Now the Patch IMEI procedure works on MIUI 13 for all MTK SoCs.

Pre-root is not required

It's not required anymore to pre-root your phone with Magisk to make the procedure work. But we kept the "Disable boot patching" option on the panel, so you can still use it for pre-rooted phones.

Known issues

According to our research the IMEI patch is removed after a factory reset. In a worst case it can cause the phone to unable to boot up and shows the "NV data is corrupted" error on the screen. In case of this error you must reflash the phone with a suitable firmware and the error will be gone. After that you can re-run the Patch IMEI procedure to re-establish the patching.

Massive Qualcomm EDL Refactor

It took us over 6 months to test and refine but now our Qualcomm EDL module refactor is released and live. Using official documentation, and a lot of experience and data from previous procedures, we are excited to present our refactored features:

  • New CPU identification logics
  • Automatic programmer selection: completely rewritten analysis and assignment logics to ensure that Chimera always selects the correct programmer for every device
  • New programmers: by now we have over 7200 verified and categorised programmers for more than 150 brands

Bugfixes:

  • Xiaomi: fixed a bug in Patch IMEI procedure for MTK SoC (mainly Redmi Note 11S 4G/POCO M4 Pro 4G /fleur/ was affected)
 
Improvements and bugfixes:

  • Core: fixed a bug when reporting procedure logs to our server
  • Core: added a generic Get Info procedure for phones in normal mode
  • Xiaomi: improved Update Firmware procedure (in Fastboot mode) to support recent firmware versions

Samsung MTK:

Without Test Point: Chimera can automatically change to bootrom mode (soft brick) for most Samsung MTK models (if possible)! We always focused on easy and user friendly solutions and this update means that you can service a lot more devices with Chimera just using a cable, without hardware disassemble.

  • Automatically fix devices with damaged GPT (bricked)
  • Added a new Set Knox Guard State procedure
  • Major changes were done in the Samsung module to help future improvements

Generic MTK:

  • Various improvements were implemented for the Repair IMEI procedure

Generic Qualcomm:

  • Retry programmer selection and resend automatically where it's possible (without using the test point again)
  • Added a new warning dialog to reconnect the battery after a successful programmer upload
  • Added a new fail-safe mechanism to communicate with programmers that do not strictly comply with the firehose protocol

Free IMEI Blacklist Checks

Starting from now, our users will get free IMEI blacklist checks with any Chimera licence they buy! You will get 20 free checks for each Samsung licence, 50 checks for each Pro licence and 100 checks for each Premium licence. You can run IMEI checks on the web dashboard (after login) and in Chimera, in the Utilities section. We also reduced the price from 7 to 5 CRD per check!

  • Samsung: additional improvements in the soft-brick (enter bootrom without TP) mechanism when executing bootrom mode procedures for MTK phones
  • LG: additional check was implemented into the FRP Remove procedure to avoid false-positive results of this function on Qualcomm phones
  • LG: an extra check was implemented into the IMEI Repair procedure as well to avoid false-positive results of this function on MTK phones
  • Generic MTK: now using additional properties to improve phone identification
  • Xiaomi: Patch IMEI procedure is disabled for MTK phones where it's definitely won't work

  • Huawei: rephrased dialog messages which pop up during procedure executions for Hisi/Kirin phones
  • Chimera Utility: usability of the EasyFirmware downloader was improved: you can access and download more files from now, but due to the EF's internal behavior we're forwarding the actual download link to your web browser which will handle the download
