*: The procedure is available from normal mode and Chimera will try to Soft Brick the device to put it in bootrom mode. If for some reason Soft Bricking doesn’t work, you will have to hardware Test Point to achieve bootrom mode.
Did anyone notice that we skipped the last biweekly update? It happens when our developers are too busy working on a big update that's coming soon!
Free IMEI Blacklist Checks
Starting from now, our users will get free IMEI blacklist checks with any Chimera licence they buy! You will get 20 free checks for each Samsung licence, 50 checks for each Pro licence and 100 checks for each Premium licence. You can run IMEI checks on the web dashboard (after login) and in Chimera, in the Utilities section. We also reduced the price from 7 to 5 CRD per check!
New features and improvements:
Samsung: additional improvements in the soft-brick (enter bootrom without TP) mechanism when executing bootrom mode procedures for MTK phones
LG: additional check was implemented into the FRP Remove procedure to avoid false-positive results of this function on Qualcomm phones
LG: an extra check was implemented into the IMEI Repair procedure as well to avoid false-positive results of this function on MTK phones
Generic MTK: now using additional properties to improve phone identification
Xiaomi: Patch IMEI procedure is disabled for MTK phones where it's definitely won't work
Xiaomi: renamed some of the procedures to be more user friendly
Huawei: rephrased dialog messages which pop up during procedure executions for Hisi/Kirin phones
Chimera Utility: usability of the EasyFirmware downloader was improved: you can access and download more files from now, but due to the EF's internal behavior we're forwarding the actual download link to your web browser which will handle the download
Bugfixes:
Generic MTK: fixed a bug when restoring backups that could fail with "Internal Error"
Xiaomi: fixed a bug when handling phones in sideload mode
Chimera Utility: fixed a bug in the destination path selector of the Firmware Extractor
Added a new FRP Remove solution for OPPO phones with Qualcomm SoCs. It's available from EDL mode.
We can't provide an exact supported model list, because it's a generic solution which utilises a custom feature of the Qualcomm programmers.
Based on our current programmer database we've collected a list of the supported SoCs below. Please note: this solution might not work on every device that is equipped with the listed SoCs.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 450
Qualcomm Snapdragon 460
Qualcomm Snapdragon 662
Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G
Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G
Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G
Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G
Qualcomm Snapdragon 865
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888
The new solution uses Oppo programmers from the official firmware packs, which are named like "prog_firehose_ddr_fwupdate.elf". If Chimera can't provide you a suitable programmer you can look inside a firmware pack and pick one manually. You can use Chimera's own Firmware Extractor (Utility) for this. Be aware that the procedure can take a long time to execute (10-15 minutes) and removing the phone during the process will make the phone unable to boot. This long process usually happens only once on a device.
You're welcome to post your experience and results to our thread on GSM-Forum. Please also share the model names for every successful procedure!
Added a new Bypass Mi Account procedure which is available from sideload mode and you can use it to skip the Setup Wizard app on those phones. It doesn't remove the Mi Account and the phone will be locked again after a firmware update. Xiaomi started to close this option recently via firmware updates, so it's mostly supported on phones with older firmware versions.

This will save you time during the procedure, it also reduces errors due to forgotten or wrongly executed cable insertion.
